THE DIVING SHIP IN THE MALDIVES For more than seventeen years, the well maintained 30-meter-long and 10-meter-wide diving safari ship AMBA has been cruising in the Maldives as an very reliable, dependable, and comfortable diving safari ship with a unique and incomparable character and an outstanding crew. It visits the best central atolls such as Vaavu, Ari and male Atolls. The large diving safari ship accommodates 20 experienced divers. The tour management on board is from Germany. The on board language is English and translations into German can be done by the German speaking staff members. THE COMFORTABLE LARGE CABINS All cabins are very spacious and have their own bathroom with hot water, hand basin and western toilet. The cabins themselves are equipped with individually adjustable modern and well-maintained air conditioning. The upper deck has two exclusive cabins with a large private terrace and a double bed plus one single bed overlooking the Indian Ocean. On the upper deck, there is also a very cozy cabin with a double bed but without balcony. These cabin is not comparable to the luxury cabins as it is slightly smaller and do not have their own terrace. On the lower deck there are 7 cabins with double beds or single beds, which can be booked by friends as well as couples. Each bed is equipped with a high quality mattress, a mattress protector, a thin sleeping sheet, a fluffy, soft yet airy blanket and a high-quality pillow. Bed linen and towels are cleaned by a professional cleaning service before each tour, and mattresses are regularly replaced. Towels in the cabins are automatically changed every 2 days and housekeeping is happy to provide additional towels if required. Towels on the diving Dhoni are changed every day. Room service works from early to late and thoroughly cleans each room once a day in the morning. COMMUNAL AREAS The AMBA has an incredible amount of space. Three freshly prepared international meals are served daily in the cozy mild air-conditioned salon. The kitchen crew led by a German certified and experienced Chef has been working on board for many years and conjures up Western, Asian and, of course, Maldivian, Bengali and Indian specialties using fresh produce. Fresh fish, which we catch almost daily and even during the tour, is served in a wide variety of variations depending on the angler’s luck. Vegetarians and also Vegans can be catered for without any problems. Drinking water, tea and instant coffee are included in the price. Fresh Milk and a vegan Milk is available. Tropical Juice is available all day long from a cooling dispenser in the Bar. Alcoholic drinks, fresh Fruitcakes, Milkshakes, Nespresso Coffee and soft drinks are available at moderate prices in the onboard Kiosk. The very cozy shadow deck offers shade and is ideal for relaxing between dives or in the evening with a fantastic view of the action behind the boat. It is said that there are often large fish swimming around the stern. A large, partially covered sun deck offers plenty of space for sunbathing with an unmistakable view over the Indian Ocean. DINING ROOM The dining room, also known as the salon, is moderately air-conditioned 25 C at all times. It comfortably seats 20 guests at two large tables. Briefings are also held in this room. Each guest has their own private compartment with a European power socket for charging and storing flashlights or camera equipment. Battery Charging in the rooms is not allowed and not possible. Mobile phones can only be charged by usb and usb-c in the rooms. No regular power outlet is available in the rooms to prevent a fire hazard that we can not control. SHADOWDECK The shadow deck, offers plenty of space in the open but still covered in the shade. Fans and a short walk to the Kiosk with refreshments ensure a pleasant stay. A refreshing cold water Shower is available and Towels are provided. SUNDECK With almost 20 individual sunbathing areas, the sun deck offers enough space for all guests. Sun worshippers can enjoy the direct sun in the middle of the sun deck. The other guests are slightly shaded and enjoy their time on comfortable outdoor mattresses and sun deck sun loungers. SAFETY The safety and well-being of our guests and crew is our top priority! Naturally, we reflect on what we do with the expertise and opinions of other professionals to ensure we are always up to date. We do not take any risks during the journey or the dives, and we naturally have the safety certificate from the Maldivian authorities. A very experienced captain who is steering the Vessel since 17 years and a well-trained and prepared crew give guests a warm welcome. Detailed security training is conducted in the crew’s native language by qualified and experienced experts, complementing the overall safety concept. Unannounced emergency scenario drills are held regularly for the crew to ensure proper response in case of an emergency. Our guests are, of course, informed in advance. Before each tour, the entire crew works through all relevant emergency procedures and stations under the guidance of the boatmanager as an integral part of the safety checklist so that they can act quickly and without delay in the event of an emergency. Guests with a medical background, such as doctors, paramedics, and firefighters, are asked to introduce themselves at the beginning of the trip to the tour leader to make the right decisions in case of an emergency. In the kitchen, we avoid using deep frying to fundamentally prevent grease fires, which are often the cause of fires onboard ships. The gas lines in the kitchen are regularly checked and replaced if necessary. Only as much kitchen gas is taken as needed for a tour to avoid having unnecessarily flammable material on board. Fire extinguishers with various extinguishing agents at all crucial locations. Fire blankets at the entrances and exits of the kitchen. Industrial fire suppression system in the engine room. Independent water supply for firefighting. Independent high-capacity water pump in case of bilge pump overload. Annually serviced ball valves in the bilge. Smoke detectors in every room and multiple detectors in some rooms. Small first aid box. Large first aid box with emergency medications. Medical supply box for medical personnel. Several Emergency oxygen on dive and main ships. Total 150 liters of Oxygen.
